Tung Wah Joint-School Study Tour to Ningbo 2026
On 28 June 2026, our students joined a Tung Wah joint-school reading study tour to Ningbo, where they explored the city’s rich cultural heritage, history and modern development. The journey began at Tianyi Pavilion, Asia’s oldest surviving private library, followed by visits to the historic Old Bund, Zhaobao Mountain, Aozu Tower, Dongqian Lake, and the ancient towns of Hanling and Cicheng. Students also visited the Hemudu Site and Ningbo Book City, gaining a deeper understanding of Ningbo’s ancient civilisation and its vibrant reading culture today. One of the highlights was the visit to the Ningbo Bang Museum, where students learned about the “Ningbo Gang” — pioneering merchants and entrepreneurs who made significant contributions to Hong Kong, the nation and global commerce. Their stories of perseverance, patriotism and lifelong learning encouraged students to reflect on the value of reading, knowledge and personal growth. The tour concluded at the newly renovated Ningbo Museum, leaving students with a stronger appreciation of Chinese culture and a renewed interest in reading and learning beyond the classroom.
