F1 Orientation Day 2025
As summer gives way to the new academic year, Wong Fut Nam School opens its doors to the latest cohort of freshmen. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve designed a comprehensive two-part orientation program to help our new students feel supported and ready for the exciting journey ahead.
On August 25, our new students kicked off their secondary school experience with a half day of activities. The day began with ice-breaking games and activities, where freshmen got to know their new classmates and class teachers with the help of Peer Counselors.
The Peer Counselors then took the lead, offering a detailed overview of school life at Wong Fut Nam. To provide a well-rounded perspective, Peer Tutors and Prefects also spoke to the group, sharing valuable information on the school’s academic and disciplinary expectations. These sessions were designed to help ease any concerns the F1 students may have had about their new campus environment.
The orientation also included a practical tour of the campus. Librarians guided the students through the library, showing them how to use the automated borrowing system, access e-readers, and operate the photocopier. Following the library tour, students explored the rest of the campus with their Peer Counselors, visiting the special rooms where they will be attending lessons throughout the year.
The following day, on August 26, we held an Orientation Talk for both students and their parents. This session provided an opportunity for various school committees—including Discipline, Guidance, and Extra-curricular Activities—to share detailed information about our school’s culture and environment. The goal was to help students and their parents understand the potential challenges in secondary school better and learn how to overcome the obstacles together.
Through these two orientation events, our F1 students felt supported and empowered to begin an enriching secondary school journey, guided by dedicated teachers and student leaders.
