F3 students Fu King Yiu and Wang Ying have been awarded Merit Prizes in the Junior Secondary Category of the “Pictorial History of the War of Resistance Against Japan – Hong Kong Junior Secondary School Students’ Cartoon Re-creation Competition” (畫說抗戰——全港初中學生漫畫再創作比賽).
Jointly organised by the Education Bureau and the Academy of Chinese Studies to commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the competition encouraged participants to create comics combining images and text, grounded in historical facts, to depict key events from this period under the theme “A Dialogue across Time and Space” (跨越時空的對話).
The competition served as a valuable platform for students to deepen their understanding of this important chapter in history while cultivating patriotic sentiment and a strong sense of national identity.
