One of the key areas of development of our school is STEM education. Our school’s STEM programme helps students develop a solid knowledge base and ignite their passion for STEM. In addition, it strengthens students’ abilities to integrate and apply their knowledge and skills across different subject disciplines. A series of STEM activities are organized every year to provide opportunities for students to apply what they have learnt in their daily lives. In one of our activities, STEM Week, students are given chances to integrate and apply knowledge and skills by designing and exhibiting their work at school. Not only their creativity, but also their collaboration and problem solving skills can be nurtured.
To further our commitment to STEM, one of our classrooms has been renovated to the STEM laboratory. Equipped with everything, it allows students to experiment, explore, design and test their innovations and ideas. They can design their own product from scratch and use our innovative and cutting-edge equipment, like laser cutter, 3D printers to create their unique masterpiece. On the other hand, our school has established a science team. Students can use the innovative equipment in the state-of-the-art Bio-tech Laboratory, which is specially built for science and technology learning to carry out biotechnology experiments and take part in world class competition every year. Students are encouraged to integrate and apply their knowledge to solve problems in everyday life. With an incredible range of equipment, students can devise, build and test their inventions so as to develop students’ analytical capabilities, nurture their problem solving skills and promote self-learning.
